From Tuesday, September 27 through to Friday, September 30, the Ontario Sunrisers LTV Chapter held their Fall Rally at Quinte’s Isle Campark in Cherry Valley, Ontario, which is in Prince Edward County. We had 23 RVs attending, including 5 RVs attending their first Rally. On Tuesday, we arrived and had a check-in process followed by a potluck appetizer get-together in the recreation hall. That evening we had a campfire and smores for about an hour and a half before it started to rain.

Wednesday morning, we had coffee, pastries, and fruit in the hall, and at 10:30, 12 bicycle riders started for Sandbanks Provincial Park while others drove around to see the sights around Prince Edward County. The bicycle riders entered the Outlet River Campground and then connected to the Woodlands Trail and followed it to the end at the Dunes Beach area. Some of the riders completed the Dunes Trail Hike to see the dunes and the flora/fauna. For the return to the campground, we took the MacDonald Trail and eventually back onto the road to the campground. That evening we had arranged for a smoked meat trailer to come and serve us dinner. The big hits were the smoked ribs, the smoked brisket, and the salads. Once everyone had finished their dinner, we showed the movie RV with Robin Williams, and everyone got a good laugh from his antics.

Thursday morning started with coffee and conversation, followed by taking our group photo. We had booked a winery tour and tasting with Casa Dea Estates, so we started lining up around 10:00 am and then proceeded to the winery in convoy. The LTVs looked great, all lined up in Casa Dea’s parking lot. Our host Danielle gave us a great tour of the bottling area where they were processing sparkling wine, and she also showed us the cellar area and explained about the various wines they make. Once the tour was completed, we enjoyed a wood-fired pizza lunch in their tasting area. On the way back to the campground, several people stopped at the Lavender and Honey shop to sample some dry mead wines. Later in the afternoon, we held an impromptu question-and-answer session. Several people visited other people’s RVs to help solve issues they had encountered or explain how something worked. Everyone had dinner on their own, but then we had a large campfire gathering that evening.

Friday morning, we had a short coffee session followed by many people helping us to clean up the recreation hall and put away the chairs and tables. We said our final goodbyes and were happy that everyone seemed to enjoy this Rally in Prince Edward County.

Our spring Rally will be in the Waterloo area in late May, but for now, safe travels wherever your LTV takes you.
